Description
MIXED
AGED CLASS (Newborn - 4yrs 11mos with adult)
This is the essential Music Together®
class, one that a child can attend from birth through age five —
and through all nine song collections. This basic class follows
the recommendations of child development researchers — grouping
children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style
learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones;
older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy
because the children in the family can go to class together. Each
child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting,
listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers
— parents, grandparents, nanny — can bring the children.
The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.
BIG
KIDS (ages 5 through 7yrs)
Music Together
Big Kids™ is a 60-minute class geared to the interests and
abilities of 5, 6, and 7-year-olds. The program blends the elements
of Music Together that parents and children love with new activities,
skills, and challenges that are developmentally appropriate for
this age group.
Big Kids classes
lay the foundation for Basic Music Literacy, complementing music
instruction in school or instrument lessons, and leading to a lifetime
of joyful music-making. The curriculum includes solfège,
solos and ensembles, folk dances, harmony singing, vocal development,
and drumming. In a safe, fun environment, your child can experiment
with new activities like conducting and improvisation, story songs,
and game songs.
Parent attendance
is not required but encouraged the first and last class of the semester,
as well as the last five to ten minutes of each class in between.
Each family receives a Big Kids songbook, CD, solfège cards,
and HomePlay activities, so that the entire family can continue
the fun and learning at home and parents can stay connected with
what the child is learning in class.

times a family will switch into another class at the last minute
so be sure to let us know.

Tuition
Winter
2012 Semester
Once a week for ten weeks
Mixed
Aged Classes (45 minutes long):

Families: 1st child $165
- New Families:

- Siblings
8 months or older: $125
- Registration
Deadline: December 19th
- Children
under 8 months with a sibling registered in a mixed-age class
are free. Siblings who reach 8 months of age within the
first two weeks of the semester are subject to the sibling fee.
- Registrations
received after December 19th are subject to a $10 late fee.
Tuition
for our Mixed Aged Classes includes:
- Two Professionally
recorded CDs of songs/music used in class, a different CD
for each semester.
- Songbook
with illustrations
- Music
and Your Child: A Guide for Parents and Caregivers, a
special dvd for parents who are new to Music Together®
Big Kids
Classes
(1 hour long):
- Returning
Families: 1st child $175
- New Families:
1st child $185
- Sibling Fee
(if sibling is also in our Big Kids Class) $135
- Sibling Fee
(if sibling is in our mixed aged class) $125
- Due to the
structure of the Big Kids class, we cannot accommodate younger
siblings (except for babies younger than eight months if you
are attending.) You and any younger siblings are welcome and encouraged
to join the last 10 minutes of every class.
Tuition for
our Big Kids Classes includes:
- Take home
Solfege Cards and Home Play Cards
- Your child's
own Curriculum Binder of Music
- And of course,
our Big Kids cd!

Location
CMT Pittsford studio is located at Northfield Common, 50 State Street
in Pittsford. Free parking is available in the Northfield Common
parking lot in front of the studio as well as behind.
