CMT Scholarship
FAQ's
Who may benefit
from a CMT Scholarship?
Anyone may benefit
from a CMT Scholarsip, from a first time family to a family that
has been a part of our CMT family for years.
Do I need to
divulge personal financial information?
No, no financial
information is asked for, the honor system applies here. If you
request a scholarship we take you at your word that you need the
assistance. Simply answer the questions on our Scholarship Application
page and your request will be considered.
How can I apply for a
CMT scholarship?
Please answer
our questions located on our CMT Scholarship
Application page and submit them via email or USPS.
Are scholarship
requests ever denied?
Yes, that is
possible. Unfortunately there are some who may not value the principals
of Canalside Music Together, and therefore not truly benefit from
the program. In that case, it is only fair to pass along the scholarship
to a family that will benefit from our communal, music making family.
Possible denial of scholarship assistance are: an unwillingness
from the parent or caregiver to be an active participant during
class, frequent absenses not due to extenuating circumstances, etc.
How are CMT
Scholarships awarded?
The questions
on the CMT Scholarship Application page are answered by the applicant
and submitted to Esther Winter (CMT director) via email or USPS.
Once the application has been processed the available funds are
reviewed and scholarships are determined. Every measure is taken
to provide opportunities to all applicants, however sometimes this
is fiscially not possible.
How can I make
a contribution to the CMT Scholarship Fund?
Contributions
must be made by check payable to Canalside Music Together and mailed
to: 17 South Main Street, Pittsford, NY 14534. If you wish to keep
your contribution confidential, you can do so with a note accompanying
your contribution.
