HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES

We are committed to doing our best to mitigate the risks associated with COVID 19 and other contageous viruses by enhancing sanitation and ventilation.

Before you leave home: Please do a quick self-assessment and stay home if you or anyone living in your home is showing any one of these symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, other respiratory symptoms or any two of these symptoms: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell. Please stay home and schedule a make up if you or anyone you’ve been in close contact with has been exposed to COVID-19, RSV, or Norovirus.

Consider washing your hands before and after class!
Masks are optional for all participants. That said, if you or any member of your family shows symptoms of illness of any kind, your teacher reserves the right to ask you to leave our center and schedule a makeup.

Families are asked to limit their attendance to one adult per family unit at the start of the semester. Additional growups will be allowed to join us once the semester is underway, provided there is space available.

Makeups: A maximum of four makeups are given to every family per semester. Makeups are available on a space available basis. Missed classes or unused makeup spots cannot be forwarded to a future semester. Refunds or credits are not available for missed classes.

GIFT CERTIFICATE INFORMATION

  • Gift certificates are valid for one year from the semester issued. Exact dates for your gift certificate can be found at the bottom of your certificate.
  • Gift certificates can be redeemed only during open registration periods at CMT. We advise your first step to redeeming your certificate to be to join our mailing list. You will then receive registration notifications from our office when they are released. You can do so by visiting our website at www.canalsidemt.com, or emailing us at [email protected].
  • Redeem your certificate by entering the certificate number under "coupon code" on our registration page. Certificate number is located in the top right corner of your certificate page. We don’t need the actual certificate for you to redeem, but you must know the gift certificate number.
  • Class placement of CMT gift certificate recipients is on a space available basis during our open registration period. Our classes tend to fill very quickly – we advise you to contact our office as soon as open registration begins to increase your chances of being placed in a class. We are not able to hold spots for gift certificate recipients before our open registration period, so please do not contact our office beforehand.
  • If we are unable to place you in a class, you will be placed on a waiting list for that class or classes (you can be placed on multiple waiting lists). If a spot does not become available before the third week of our semester, you will need to wait until the following semester to try again.
  • The bearer of the gift certificate is responsible for any cost difference between the certificate value and the cost of tuition at Canalside Music Together when it is redeemed. No refund given if the certificate value is more than the current cost of tuition. No refund given if certificate is not redeemed by or before the redeem semester and time frame listed on our gift certificate.
  • Feel free to contact us by phone or email with any questions regarding our gift certificates.

ASSUMPTION OF THE RISKS AND WAIVER OF LIABLITY

As consideration for Canalside Music Together permitting me to take Music Together® classes, I agree to the following:

ASSUMPTION OF THE RISKS:  I understand, that naturally occurring disease processes (including, but not limited to, Coronavirus/COVID-19, RSV, Norovirus), may exist in the community including at Canalside Music Together, and present an inherent risk that cannot be eliminated. I acknowledge that, although Canalside Music Together is taking reasonable measures to avoid contact, transmittal, and exposure of disease processes like COVID-19, RSV, or Norovirus between people in our classes (including frequently sanitizing our instruments & equipment, Music Together Teachers, and third-parties), it is ultimately my responsibility to ensure that I and my child take appropriate actions to safe-guard ourselves. I understand and agree that as a registered member of Canalside Music Together, I am accepting and voluntarily assuming the risk that I or my child may be exposed and become ill as a result of COVID-19 and other diseases.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY: I, on behalf of myself and my child hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and covenant not to sue Canalside Music Together INC, and its owners, managers, members, employees, agents, and volunteers (“Released Parties”) for any claims that may arise out of or relate in any way to my or my child’s exposure to any communicable disease, including but not limited to the novel coronavirus or COVID-19. The claims hereby released include, but are not limited to, claims of negligence against any of the Released Parties.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS WAIVER AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. BY ENROLLING IN CLASSES AT CANALSIDE MUSIC TOGETHER, I UNDERSTAND I HAVE GIVEN UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS AND THAT THIS IS A BINDING LEGAL DOCUMENT.

ATTENDANCE

Registrant understands that only participants' own children are allowed in the class. Bringing children who are not your own is not permitted. If a grandparent or caregiver is bringing your child to class, they are allowed only to bring your registered children. This also pertains to any scheduled make-ups.

REFUNDS

Refunds are not available after registration deadline. Registration deadline is a week before the start date of the semester. If you opt to receive credit for a future semester and don't redeem that credit, a refund will not be given. The value of any unredeemed credit will be applied toward our scholarship fund.

Refunds or credits are not available for missed classes.

Full or partial credit towards a future semester may be given at the discretion of the center director (minus $15 registration fee) in extenuating circumstances, if registrant is unable to complete semester.

Classes need a minimum of six families enrolled in order to register. In the event a class is canceled for this or any other reason, registered families will receive a FULL refund.

In the event of inclement weather, CMT will make every effort to reschedule a canceled class, if there is a gap between semesters where rescheduling is possible. If class is canceled due to weather and rescheduling is not possible, no refunds will be given for the canceled class.

Registrant understands that refunds requested before our registration deadline will be received within four to six weeks.

Registrations are non-transferable.

Registrant understands that our ten-week semester is designed to build on itself from week to week. Therefore, it is essential that families make every effort to attend as many classes as consistently as possible. If registrant fails to attend class weeks one through three, fails to schedule any makeups within that time, and has not communicated with CMT to explain any extenuating circumstance (for instance, major illness, vacation, etc.), registrant understands that their spot in their registered class can be given to another family. Registrant understands that their attendance for the remainder of the semester is contingent upon the discretion of the center director and refunds are not available.

SAFETY

We reserve the right to dismiss a family when, in the sole discretion of CMT, the family cannot be served with safety and with respect for the rights of other class-members. Dismissal is accompanied by a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the semester less the semester's registration fee and $40.

PHONES AND CAMERAS

Phone and camera use are not allowed while class is in session. If you bring your phone into our classroom it must be on vibrate and tucked away during class. Please no texting, photos, or videotaping during class, unless your teacher gives you an explicit exception to this policy for a few unobtrusive snapshots of one's own family member during the playalong. We instead invite you to dance, sing and be an active participant.

Stuffed animals, toys, etc., are not allowed in our studio.

Please leave those items in our waiting area or in your car. If there is an extenuating circumstance regarding an item you'd like to bring into our studio for your child during class, please speak with your teacher or contact our office beforehand to avoid upsetting your child or putting anyone in an awkward situation. If you enter the studio with an item that could be distracting without clearing it with us, your teacher has the right to ask you to figure out an alternate plan in our waiting room.
